A community rooted in

Under the tree

Art, Nature & Human Connection.

In old days, people gathered under the tree, to talk, to listen, to share stories, music and laughter. It wasn't just shade they sought, but connection. With each other. With themselves. With the earth.

We want to bring that spirit back. That's why we're starting Under the Tree, a slow, mindful, creative space for people who feel deeply. For those who love to make art, notice the wind in the trees, sit with birdsong, and wonder about the world.

Why we're gathering

We want a place where people can

Page two

What we dream of

We imagine a circle of people sitting under an actual tree, or the idea of one, sharing their thoughts, sketchs, poem, or just their prescence.

The community standing in a wide circle in a courtyard under a mango tree, bunting overhead.
A circle, already happening. Taped in from the notebook.

What we do

Sometime we'll walk in nature and let it speak to us. Other times, we'll create art inspired by what we see, hear, or feel.

i

Art-sharing circles

Where you don't have to be good, just honest.

ii

Nature observation days

Slow down and watch the world as it is.

iii

Journaling or poetry circles

Write it down, read it out, or keep it.

iv

Workshops or talks

Just friendly, like an old friend telling you a story.

Why Under The Tree

Because tree have always welcomed us.
They don't Judge.
They grow slow, strong and steady, just like we hope to.

Trees were the first Classrooms, the first stage, the first place of learning and dreaming. We want to go back to that, to the raw, real space where humans and earth meet as equals.

Purpose & Vision

To build a soulful, grounded community where people connect through art, nature and each other, beyond screens and distractions.

A world where humans express their truest selves through art, learn from nature and rediscover the joy of being present with others.

Core values

  1. Authentic expression over perfection. We don't care if your painting looks messy or your poem doesn't rhyme. We care about what's real.
  2. Nature is our Teacher. We believe everything we need to learn about life, we can learn by watching a tree. It stands tall, bends with the wind, lets go of what it no longer needs. Nature doesn't force. It doesn't rush.

The rhythm

  2. Second SundayAny small outdoor gathering. Turf. Trekking. Swimming pool. Any.
  3. Third SundayPreparation for the next week event.
  4. Fourth SundayBig gathering, theme based, like art workshop, story telling & more.

Workshops, told as a story

Every workshop gets a storyboard before it gets a poster. This is the first one, drawn the night it was decided.

A step towards sustainable living.

The idea, written down first.

02

Saturday / Sunday

23 / 24

Morning / evening. Two to three hours.

A date, a time, and nothing more complicated than that.

03
Pencil storyboard: a long table in perspective with six people seated along it working, clay figures on the table, a facilitator at the left end, a tree drawn in red pen at the right.

One long table. Everyone on the same side of it.

04
Detail of the storyboard: small clay figures standing on the table surface.

Clay, hands, no moulds. Made to go back into the water.

05
An art-making circle: adults and children seated on a mat on the ground with paper, paint and pencils, under a tree.

And this is what it actually looks like on the day.

A step towards
sustainable living.

Then we put the table away and do it again next month.

The place we're growing

A place where it creates. An energy flowing area.

A real tree with a seat built round its trunk. A roof on thin posts beside it, a long bench underneath, a counter at the end. A work cafe under the tree, for the hours between the gatherings.

Pencil sketch of the place: a large tree with a low circular seating platform around its trunk, and a flat-roofed pergola beside it with a long bench and a service counter.
The place, as it was first drawn.

Who is this for

No Skill level needed.
Just heart.
Just honesty.
Just curiosity.

We'll keep this community small, gentle and meaningful, this might be your space. Not something to grow fast, but something that grows deep. Like roots.

So we water it.
With Presence.
With intention.
With art, laughter, silence and care.

And every person who joins with an open heart becomes part of that growing tree, a new leaf, a stronger root, a branch reaching toward light.

Let's grow this tree, together.

Fill this in and watch it grow.

Four things. Nothing else.

No newsletter. No spam. Growth through resonance, not promotion.

Under The Tree is waiting for you.
